Overview of The CAGED System – Lesson 23

I always got confused when it came to the shapes because I was always taught to think in chords and after reviewing this lesson about 4 or 5 times now I realized something that makes a lot more sense to me. Now correct me if I'm wrong BUT I'm pretty sure moving it up will follow the musical alphabet (A B C D E F G) for example if you move the open C chord up 2 frets it becomes a D chord if you move the A chord up 2 frets it becomes a B chord if you move the G up it becomes an A chord and so on and so forth. Not sure if that's correct but if it is then this makes a lot more sense to me than thinking in shapes.
