  • Hello Mr. Haner Sr,

First of all, thank you for setting up and running this great guitar site!!

    Unfortunately, I'm having an issue with this page;

When I click the green MARK COMPLETE box, a blue MARK COMPLETE box opens so that I can "confirm completion."

But when I click on the blue box I get redirected to an error page which reads:

    ----

    Error 502 Ray ID: 63946f898e5b5f02 • 2021-04-01 20:06:02 UTC

    Bad gateway

    Tokyo Cloudflare: Working
    syngates.com: Host Error

It's been like this for four days. I am based in Japan, and I'm not using VPN.

Anyway, thank you again for all your help and inspiration!!

Was it you that was saying you and Syn did the outro on sidewinder when the Spanish scales kicked up?
Would it be possible to buy a signed copy of Carney Man? Please let me know! Thanks

The book? It's out of print - and I don't have any copies. My publisher went out of business. The good news is that the rights reverted back to me so I can print it myself now. The bad news is I haven't done that yet. lol. Lemme see if I can round you up a copy.

That’d be amazing thanks a lot!
    Hey Papa Gates!

I'm trying to expand my musical knowledge, skills, and taste, by listening, performing, and delving deep into jazz music. Knowing that you are a well renown jazz artist and fan, I was wondering if you could send me a list of not only the basic / essential jazz artists, bands, and records to get into. But also some of the more obscure and greatest jazz artists, bands and records. That would be strongly appreciated as I am very ambitious and eager to get into jazz music.

    Thank you!

Much respect and from here a student that appreciates all the time that you invest in every lesson, have a big value!

I'm grateful to be part of this as a student, and I appreciate your answer. Cheers!
Hello @Brian Haner Sr. ! I hope that you are well and with much health in times of quarantine. That's the only thing that matters. I've been playing since 13 years old, making 15 years since I've started. In 2011 I have stopped playing, mostly because of going to university while working. It consumed all my time and I hadn't time to practice really.
Since I graduated, I've tried to return a lot of times without success, but now I'm here to learn new techniques!
I've already studied a lot of music formally in the past and came here because there is something to learn always.

Just dropping some love on your head! The students have an Instagram chat and I'm being a blabbermouth and passing on the word that there was like a ten page discussion about how incredible you are and how thankful they were. Especially for how active you are here and how helpful you are.
I don't get in the chat much but when I saw all those wonderful things I had to tell you 🙂
Cool blues master class... The jazz blues and jump blues stuff is all relatively new territory... I was hearing also a rather Latin style turnaround in the vein of " One Note Samba" ...not sure, trying EMaj9 GMaj7 CMaj7 B7b9.... Hmmmm....sorta. That's obviously not in Bb
I'll be carving out some extra time for the school over the next couple of weeks to answer questions about the blues. Feel free to hit me up!

I love you!!!! I'm so glad I have this week off! I'm gonna grab a nice hot cocoa and delve so deep into those things over the next few days. I just skimmed over the titles after lesson 1 and my eyes were all 🤩🤩🤩 I'm taking good notes so I'll be sure to write my questions down! Thank you for doing this!! Any plans to do a jazz master class for the jazz cats here?
I still have no idea if your outro solo on Angles was real or not 🤔

I remember hearing the story about you recording it in a one take in some interview with Syn, unbelievable! I think that it's more likely that the gods smiled when they heard it since it is so brilliant, that whole song is gold and your solo is absolutly the icing on the cake. It just fits the song so perfectly.

I agree with Jak, i'm sure everyone would love to see your approaches on your parts in avenged songs!
