Decided to post my riff after the encouragement I got from many of you. As I said, it's not much, but I am proud of it.
I returned to the CAGED System and based my Riff around Syn's Tip in Lesson 29, where he encourages us to stay in one position when playing and making the most of it. To demonstrate why that is benefitial I played my chords in different positions first and the main riff all in one position.
Here's the theory behind it: My Riff is based around Dm, the Chord Progression is Dm-F-G (Dm-A-Dm-A-F-A-Dm-A-G-A-G-A to be exact). The main riff is sweeping the arpeggios (I think) all based around the fifth fret, using Dm in the Am shape, A in the E shape, the C shape for F and the D shape for G. I always play D, F or G arpeggio on the up sweep and the A on the down sweep.
I am doing this in so much detail to get some extra practice with the CAGED system. Also I am aware there is no F# in my key, which I play when sweeping the G arpeggio but I thought it adds a nice touch.
New site, first new status! Love the redesign and it was an honor to see it first hand.
When it comes to my guitar life, that is lagging behind quite a bit. Been not very inspired to play and don't know what to play. Also lots of other stuff to do. Hope inspiration comes back soon. I could really use some days off to take care of my hobbies only.
One Month Challenge going stupid slow. Don't think I can make it through the whole Intro until the 17th.
But I FINALLY figured out how to program fitting Drums for my Song, which means I can soon record the whole thing.
Well, just put up my Gibson Flying V for sale (Germany only though). Looking at other offers online I may get more than what I originally payed for which is cool. Probably gonna end up getting another Schecter to take its place.
Just made a plan on what to learn next on guitar. Two covers and some lessons. Let's see how that goes as I still don't have a lot of time. One video is for sure coming in december and I am really excited about it!
No synner saturday Riff from me today but I did practice my original a Bit. Still can't Play Well enough to a Metronome to record the track for good. Even considering a lesson with Bill, may help me with this
Just tried the Hughes & Kettner "Spirit of Metal" amp at our local store. That thing is so tiny you wouldn't believe it's an amp but DAMN that power and pressure behind the sound. Only good for heavy riffing though and with master on 2 that 50W thing tried to blow my ears out already. So not an amp for my bedroom guitarist ass...
wrote a tiny riff with Syn's Tips that I am really proud of but I think it's just not good enough. Don't really have what it takes yet to make the things I imagine reality. Barely have time for practice anyway.
