For those of you who don't know me yet, my name is Anna Luiza, I'm from Brazil and I have 0 experience in the guitar world.
This is my first video. I've decided to record and post my first practice of the C major scale. Even though it's very rough, I'm very happy I was able to overcome my fear of exposing myself. As you can see, I'm still getting familiar with the fretboard, the strings, the right way to hold the pick... It's all very new to me.
I hope soon I can watch this video again and see how much progress I've made!
Earlier today, I was trying to record something to post in this new, beautiful and rad website, but EVERY TIME I tried to do it, something happened. Like my dog interrupting me a thousand times. I guess it was some kind of spell that bass worshipper, aka @Radu-Cristian Perde, cast on me.
I'll try and record something tomorrow, maybe.
I'm getting really frustrated because since yesterday I've been trying to practice a new song, but I'm playing really bad, like a really awful sound The song is easy, but it seems that something is holding me back. And also shortly after I start to play, like when I'm only 15 minutes into my practice, I already feel a pain in my left hand.
It was great to have the opportunity to be with @Syn Gates, @Brian Haner Sr. and all of my SGS friends today!
Thank you so much, Syn, for aswering my question and for creating this community. Thank you, Papa Gates, for also creating this amazing place, and for always being here with us and for everything you teach us!
Thank you to the amazing staff who put this together!
This has truly been the best day of my life! ❤
I was practicing Tonight The World Dies and I'm having such a hard time trying to play the Bsus2 chord, that I actually thought about throwing my guitar out of the window. @Batbia, can you feel my struggle?
Do you guys think that Californication, by the RHCP, is a good song for a beginner to learn? I was listening to it earlier today and put it on my list of songs I'd like to play, but I don't know if it's a big step for a beginner.
I haven't been practicing guitar for the past 3 days, 'cause this week has been crazy for my family. I lost an aunt yesterday, after a battle against cancer. I don't have energy or focus now.
The school is a great distraction to everything, but I need to get back my motivation to study again!
I was practicing the strumming and, at first, I wasn't using my wrist so much and was putting too much strength on my fingers. Then I let my wrist more "loose", and I noticed it got a little easier, but, at the same time, it was harder to hold the pick, like, my fingers couldn't keep gripping it so much and sometimes the pick just flew out of my hand Does anyone have a tip for this? Like, is there a specific way to hold the pick so I can have a good grip of it AND keep strumming nicely? Or is it just a matter of time and experience?
Well, I just got my first guitar! It arrived at my home today!
I wanna thank my friend @Radu-Cristian Perde for the guidance through this much stressful process of buying the first axe.
Soon, I'll upload my first video of my practice!
I'm so happy!
