To whom it may concern: May I present “Loss”
The new normal has become the normal
Or some days it feels like I’ve numbed myself enough to feel “normal”
And other days it feels like I’ve been walking along the train tracks and a freight train has hit me at full speed with no horn or whistles on board
Some days the silence is scary
And on others it’s eerily comforting
Sometimes I stand tall and confident in myself
And on others it feels as if the breath has been struck from my lungs and I’m doubled over trying to regain control
It’s confusion and fog
And love and memories
Excruciating pain
And breathtakingly beautiful
