Does anybody want a syn school discord server?

I was thinking about making a discord server for people as I have been i. The Dooos discord server (youtube guitarist) and he has chats where you can sit and jam with people and it was a really fun experience.
I thought we could do that as well as have gear talks, discuss music and other hobbies.

yeah, my discord is Hearts/Wires#8851. But I think i agree with kfir, when the forums gain traction a discord server among students would help more than right now, as the school is small in terms of current forum users

People skype and use Instagram all the time discord shouldnt be any different. If you wanna get together and jam go for it. Record it.. and post it here. Then it’s still being used for the school. Think of it as rehearsal.

The one I was in had a few chat rooms but the main attraction was the ability to play guitar with a group who wanted to chill and have fun, I could just make it that, there would be enough rooms so it wouldn’t get out of hand.

I wouldn’t designate rooms.. just make a server. I doubt youd get many.. but itd be a great place for a rhythm and lead jam you are right. Jak and rowan have done this before live on Instagram. So people do do it out there.

We can’t tell you students what to do outside of the school. We definitely understand that there are some bugs that are making it difficult for the school to be taken full advantage of. And we appreciate your patience with it. All we really care about is that the students interact with each other and progress as musicians and find friends! If you feel that you would like to create such a thing to jam with people and have casual conversations on, then that is essentially what this school was striving to do! Let you meet other musicians and meet friends as well. But whatever you do, it would be great to post what happens here so the rest of us can see it! The only time it becomes a concern is when you start taking content off of here and putting it on another social media platform. As in, creating a Facebook page For posting your videos and questions instead of doing so here. Or even trying to sell merchandise on the school. But like Calvin said, it seems like what you said about discord is not too dissimilar than what we do on Instagram with each other so I don’t think it would be a problem at all! Go for it!

Jak said it best. 100 percent agree. Practice the jam on discord.. then record it for real for us here.. that way you guys get used to each other rather then you know.. hearing the back track ones and not knowing where you wanna go.

Of course, I wouldn’t dream of taking people away from the school, just a place to chat and socialise in calls and play guitar. By no means would I ever want this to be seen as a rival or a way to take the school down. This place is sick and what im doing is just a little something on the side where people can chill out and jam of they wish

If anyone is still interested, the server is fully functional and has procedures in place to make sure rules are accepted. I am currently working on anti spam and procedures for rule breaks but it is structurally sound for now.
