Flanger or Phaser

Hello everyone !!
How are you doing ?
I always wondered what’s the difference between phaser and flanger pedals.
I tried watching some videos online, but did not understand whatsoever.
I really enjoy playing Pink Floyd and avenged style. What would be the best option for me ? I know that pedals are something very personal, but I don’t know – maybe I learn something new haha.

As far as I know a phaser puts the wave out of phase a bit what a flanges does exactly I dont really know. I think people like David Gilmour and Eddie Van Halen are big fans of a phaser!

The phaser I do understand a little. But the flanger gets me confused.
