I got this, did it with head math.

    Frets E string : 0-1-3-5-7-8-10-12
    Note Name : E-F-G-A-B-C-D-E
    Steps : H-W-W-W-H-W-W

    A string : 0-2-3-5-7-8-10-12
    A-B-C-D-E-F-G-A
    W-H-W-W-H-W-W

    D string : 0-2-3-5-7-9-10-12
    D-E-F-G-A-B-C-D
    W-H-W-W-W-H-W

    G string : 0-2-4-5-7-9-10-12
    G-A-B-C-D-E-F-G
    W-W-H-W-W-H-W

    B string : 0-1-3-5-6-8-10-12
    B-C-D-E-F-G-A-B
    H-W-W-H-W-W-W

Are the steps scales or could they be?

Not sure how but maybe this could be expanded upon.

Hey man, so all of these are Scales, or more accurately, they are some of the Modes of the C Major Scale.

By the looks of things you've looked at all the Natural Notes on each string of the Guitar and organised them in ascending order.

The only Major scale that consists of all Natural Notes is C Major : CDEFGABC

This is the Parent Major Scale of all of your Modes and the Modes have different Greek names:
Ionian (CDEFGABC) - Really just the C Major Scale
    Dorian (DEFGABCD)
    Phrygian (EFGABCDE)

    Lydian (FGABCDEF)
    Mixolydian (GABCDEFG)
Aeolian (ABCDEFGA) - Really just the A minor Scale
    Locrian (BCDEFGAB)

As you can see here, you get each new Mode by treating each next note in the C Major scale as the new starting point, making it a new 'Mode' of the C Major Scale. I've highlighted the ones you found already. So you figured out:

    E Phrygian
    A Aeolian
    D Dorian
    G Mixolydian
    B Locrian

Hope this clears some things up 😊

Cool, maybe they played 1 string guitars. I need to go for now and investigate later.
Wrote this down to remember the names on the fretboard at first.
I can see that starting on F (1st fret E string) with Lydian, Ionian not at first glance.

    Thanks Chris
No worries man, glad I could help!
