Hello everyone!
Recently I have been listening to a lot of queens os the Stone Age… J mean, a lot haha.
And the other day I was watching a interview whit their frontman ( Josh Homme) which is one of my favorite players.
He was telling the interviewer that he loves to modify scales to make it his own.
He showed his way of playing the blues scale and was completely different. You can hear in a lot of queens songs that the scales are different.
And I find that very interesting, because it fits very well on their songs.
I thought that it is a interesting topic to discuss.
How important do you think it is to modify scales or licks in order to make them your own ? Or to make them unique?
Or even to make your signature sound?
Keep rockin!
G.

I have the same opinion, Jak and Ids!
But even knowing that, I still find myself doing the same licks over and over again. And that is kind of disappointing.
It looks like my fingers are addicted to that hahaha.
I don’t know if you have the same issues.
I hope the more I learn scales and arpeggios, I let that old licks go.
