What songs/artist did you look into playing expecting it to be impossible/hard, yet turned out easy?

Odd phrasing so I'll explain more here.
What band/song did you go into expecting it to be impossibly hard and above your skillset just to be surprised that it's something you were able to play?

For me, it turned out to be a lot of Sammy Hagar. I love Sammy and went into some of his songs expecting it to be impossible and yet I was able to get most of them down within a week. So far my favorite is "Heavy Metal"

Also on this topic, I want to know the opposite, what song did you go into thinking "This will be easy" just to learn it's way above your skillset?

Technical Difficulties by Racer x is definitely one of those for me.

I always thought it would be impossibly hard to play but I'm the end it wasn't that bad when I learned how to play it.

Dethklok honestly. Once you get the sweeps down everything else falls into place. As for song, thunderhorse by dethklok! Great workout for your 3-string sweeps and alternate picking!

I wouldnt say easy but So Cold from Breaking Benjamin was one of those songs I always wanted to play and managed to do.
Easy songs that turn out hard I think most of the songs I try to learn Now in a serious note I think I know my "skillset" so normally I try to learn songs that are not a lot above my skillset so I never fall into incredible hard songs to learn.

Marty Friedman. Ok TBH his style is near impossible to copy and therefore very hard, but surprisingly I was able to make some progress learning his language and add it to the library of influences. I originally thought it would be almost unapproachable a couple years ago when I started learning his stuff.

Hmm. I expected Insurrection by Trivium to be a Lot Harder (although I still can't Play it Clean)
There's Just Something about Matt Heafys songwriting thats so logical and smooth to play

It absolutely blows me away that pgs solo is 100% improvised.

Some of the gojira riffs and tunes were way easier to play than I originally thought. L'Enfant Sauvage was easy and fun to play! Along with Vacuity and The Gift of Guilt!
