In the previous tutorials, we have discussed minor scales. The minor scales we discussed are also known as natural minor scales. However, there are two variations of these scales, which we will talk about today and in the next tutorial.
The first variation is called the harmonic minor scale. This variation is obtained by raising the 7th note of the natural minor scale by one semitone.
For example, the harmonic A minor scale will consist of the A, B, C, D, E, F, G♯, and A notes. Here is how the scale looks like:
