What pick size you guys prefer ?

I think I’m versatile. I just buy whatever but I want to buy 2mm gator grips now thinking about it.

Anywhere between 1 and 3mm. Meaning I mostly own 2mm. I have giant hands so that’s part of the reason, and I like that they don’t make the snapping sound you get with thinner picks.

I really like the John Petrucci jazz III. They’re like the regular jazz III but bigger.

I’ve used thick, Jazz-size picks for over 30 years. It was Jazz 2.0 Stubbies for over 20, then I hunted for better. Finally landed on Jazz III Ultex for size, feel, and tone. The JPs are great, too, but are a little bigger than I’m used to. Despite the different coloring, those are also made of Ultex, and both last a VERY long time, even with aggressive playing. They’re bith around 1.5 to 2mm, but are thick enough that I don’t care which it is.

I mostly use 1.14mm Gator grips. Like the feel of them. I try to buy them in bulk. Use 2mm Gator grips on my bass when not using my fingers.
I find a stiff pick is better for lead, speed picking and pulling harmonics.

I preferred to play with fingers as I started to not just strum. Half a year ago I really started to play with picks and I like to try around. Until now I like to use 0,72 or 0,88.

just started changing up and trying different picks myself. There is quite a bit of difference in sound depending on the pick. And of course feel. I have preferred for years the 2mm Dunlop “Big Stubby” purple picks, tho. But just ordered two Dragon Heart picks and two Chicken Picks. The Chicken Picks haven’t arrived yet, but I’ve been using the Dragon Hearts for a week now. Very different, in a good way…louder sound produced, and they glide through the strings, there is little resistance, but yet a very loud solid sound produced. I found that using the fat side works best, tho, not the weird claw-like side.

I used to Play the small jazz picks but found I can’t use them too well when Holding the pick the ‘proper way’ like in the first lessons of the School. So after some recommendations I bought some Jazz XXL and Gator Grip 2.0 and I get along pretty good with the gator grips. It was a big Change though.
