Daniel he teased that they’re in the studio recording, which they’ve been hinting at for a little while. And they’re playing around with an 8 string guitar. The podcast is 40 min so I’d recommend giving it a listen, it’s good stuff

I did listen to the podcast but I didn’t catch him saying that for the studio. And for the 8 string I took that as in Schecter is making him one for fun, not necessarily for Avenged.
But I digress. Congratulations on the new kid Syn!

I’m not gonna mention everything I got as a teaser but he mentions a lot more then just the guitar. He mentioned how you always have jazz in music and he also mentions the music hes into now a bit. Which he mentions in the interview that the music hes into at the time is a huge Influence on his writing.
Maybe I’m thinking too deep into it. But I love that they are still stretching the limits.
I also had no idea how old pinkly smooth dates back to. I really need a new download of that album. They are not on spotify.

@kai C – It’s not really available anywhere. Syn has teased the idea of finding the masters, cleaning it up, and throwing it out there for the die-hard fans, but he’s been saying that for years, and it’s pretty low on the priorities list, after the family, the next A7X record, and the next version of this site, among other things.

The album on it’s own is on soundcloud. Youd have to find someone tho who has the files cause they are rare now.back in the limewire days tho it was everywhere. I’m sure SOMEONE here has a copy. Just would have to send it.

Yeah really interested in seeing what he’s up to with an 8 string. I hope we get some 8 string created goodness on the next album! Any guesses on who he looks up to that wields an 8 string? A Meshuggah influenced A7X album could be pretty wild lol.

Well, it’s a FRETLESS 8 string, so chord work would be REALLY hard to get precise on it. Plus, he says one up, one down, so not like a Drop F# thing Meshuggah or even Periphery would be up to. I dunno. Maybe something jazzy?

I totally missed the part on it being a fretless! Even weirder now. I’m not familiar with anyone besides Les Claypool who plays a fretless instrument. Now I’m all sorts of excited and curious about what they’re up to.
