Great advice! Certain players have "go to" shapes and positions. The only way you can get that sound is to play it exactly the same way.
Forgot to say, John Frusciante really loves triads too! That helped too in that department

Snow (hey oh) for example is G#m E-shape(3rd inversion), E C-shape(1st inversion), B G-shape(1st inversion), F# C-shape(1st inversion), G#m E-shape(3rd inversion), E C-shape(1st inversion), B G-shape(1st inversion), F# E-shape(2nd inversion)

Add the Hendrixy embellishments and that's it.
